How Offline Subscription Enforcement Works

FilePerch operates completely offline without ever requiring an internet connection to scan, clean, or archive your files. Subscriptions are enforced through our proven cryptographic model:

  • Ed25519 Asymmetric Signatures: When you purchase or renew, our commerce engine issues a cryptographically signed license document. Only our private key can produce this signature; modifying a single byte breaks verification immediately.
  • Hardware Fingerprinting: Licenses are mathematically bound to your Windows installation identity (MachineGuid), preventing unauthorized copying across machines.
  • Offline Expiry Checks: The embedded public key in FilePerch validates the signature and ensures the current date is within the active subscription term without reaching out to any cloud server.

System Requirements.

FilePerch runs natively on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (x64 architecture). Requires Everything 1.4 or 1.5 alpha for live IPC indexing; drives without Everything are indexed using atomic manifest snapshots.

Offline semantic ranking requires AVX2 CPU support. If unavailable, FilePerch automatically uses deterministic lexical ranking.
